Subject: Bending a chromatic

I've begun playing the chromatic more. I have a Chromonica 260. Can't bend.
(Bending is not a problem for me on the diatonic.) Is this because of my
technique, the wind savers, or something else? If it is the wind savers and I
remove them, what benefit will I loose in the process?
