Subject: NBC.Looking for tape recorder.

Hi everybody,
As a harmonica student I feel the need to buy a small cassette tape
recorder . I have a couple of reasons for that.
1. Without bothering my wife during the evening TV programs I want to
listen to and record some songs in a local Blues program.
2. I also want to record my own playing in order to check for
progress.
3. Some older harmonica music is only available on vinyl LP's. To
study that music I need to work with copy tapes.
4. During vacations I want to keep practicing so I would need
a small portable system to take with me.
I have been looking in a Sony catalogue
but nobody in the local audio store could give me practical
information and advice about some of the items and specifications.
I'm thinking of necessary items not always included in the cheaper
recorders:
1. external mic input.
2. digital counter.
3. motor speed control.
4. automatic tape reversal.
I think that everybody learning some music has this need and maybe
more but i wonder if it is possible to find all the wanted criteria
in 1 recorder. If there is a Best Bang for the Buck please tell me.
Thanks in advance.
Gervais
