Subject: RE: NBC.Looking for tape recorder.

Hello Gervais,
I use a Panasonic Model RN 402 for all of the things you listed in your post.
This is a tape recorder of the type commonly used to record meetings or take
voice notes, and uses mini-cassettes. It is not for making high quality music
recordings, but the recording/playback quality is sufficient for the things
you want to do. It is about the size of a cigarette pack, so I carry it in my
CD case with my harps, and runs for hours on 2 AA batteries. Mine has a self
contained mic, an external mic input, a headphone output, a digital tape
counter, an input for an AC adapter, and records and plays back at 2 speeds -
one is twice as fast as the other (if you record at the fast speed you can
play back at 1/2 speed to help in learning fast riffs). It does not have
auto-reverse. The cost of this recorder was $40.00 US.
