Subject: allow me to introduce myself

Hi all,
I've been reading the list for about a month and loving every post. so
this is a test to see if I can send a post.
I've been learning for about the past seven months. I take lessons. My
teacher says tongue blocking is the _only_ way to play. I don't know if
I agree (I'm pretty sure I don't), but as a result I can say that anyone
can do TB bends :)
Question: is there a specific technique that I'll need to learn that I
can only do by "lipping"?
Also, I'm now exploring chromatic, but can't find enough information on
the web. Can anyone recommend books, wwwsites, etc. someone recently
mentioned the "circle of fifths", could someone explain that in detail?
BTW, I'm in Morgan Hill, CA. so I feel compelled to plug David Barrett's
insrtuctional material (not my teacher :oP ).
Thanks to all the advance players who make so many great posts. Ironman,
JRR, Douglas T, Bonnie G, Tim Moyer, and on and on.

Really dumb newbie-type questions to follow (why else would kiss-up so
shamelessly?)
