Subject: No Absolutes?

<>
Pardon me for pointing this out, but by saying that there are _no_
"absolutes", you acknowledge at least that one. And if that is an
absolute, how can you be so sure there are not any others?

<their
high horse and tells the rest of the community how it MUST be done. It
doesn't matter who it is either. Should we condone behavior such as
Bobby
Fisher's just because he has a talent. Having world class talent doesn't

give anyone a license to misbehave. Not in my opinion.>>

Firstly, I read the original post. I don't think the opinion stated was
on a par with Bobby Fischer or Charles Barkley, et al.
Secondly, your jerky knee aside, if Tiger Woods said swing a club in
_this_ way, millions would. And rightfully so. If Michael Jordan says ya
gotta shoot free throws 'til ya drop, then "just do it". :P
See, there may be various paths to success. but they aren't as variant
as we'd like to claim. RB, Mike Curtis, Stevie Wonder, Dan Gable,
Muhammad Ali, Micheal Jordan. Each practice the most basic forms over
and over. There are no "geniuses" in the world, only those who worked
harder than everyone else around.
Semantics aside, nothing in RB's post warrented the bashing he's
endured. I for one would like to add my nail to the coffin on this
topic.
Not much harp content. For that, I apologize. Except, that I, for, one
subscribe to this list just so that "a respected authority figure" _can_
"sit on their high horse and tell _me_ how it MUST be done". All
apprentices should have thick skin or you'll never afford yourself the
opportunities to learn from those who have gone before you.
OTOH, I s'pose you could just continue to reinvent the wheel.
