Subject: Re: 11 artists/lps that changed my life

Top ten (no particular order)

1. Beatles (Meet the ...) - got the ball rolling
2. Roy Rogers (any) - copied more slide from him than I care to admit - one
of the best
3. J. Geils (early stuff before the crappy synthesizer) - first two albums,
Full House and House Party LP - OWW!
4. Steve Stills - lots of blues in this guy and great songwriting/vocals,
Manassas
6. Neil Young - a must, still the king, After the Goldrush
7. Paul Butterfield - stolen licks that have become part of who I am, East-
West
8. Siegel-Schwall - stolen licks and humor in music frequently missing these
days, EVERY LP THEY EVER PRODUCED, not a bad one
9. George Thorogood - great show and just some hard ass rockin' with basic
slide
10. Stones (most all early, up through Tattoo You) - self-explanatory
11. Muddy Waters - Just about any, old or new, what a voice
This was very painful to put together. So many had to be left out ....
