As I made clear in my post -- which apparently most people did not read
to the end -- I do use both, and essentially agree with these comments.

The point isn't that everyone MUST tongue block; the point is that if
you don't tongue block, you can't do a lot of very good stuff. And if
we define "better" as "more flexible," tongue blocking is in fact
"better." If you're willing to give up all the stuff tongue blocking
can deliver, go ahead; I just don't see why a serious player would
purposely choose to limit his or her capabilities so drastically.
