I currently own a Hohner Toot's Mellow Tone chromatic, but while it can sound fairly nice, I want to get ONE GOOD chromatic that will be worth the investment. Sorry, Douglas and Bobbie, I'm not yet in the market for the Renaissance...unfortunately.
I'm mostly a diatonic blues player, but lately (especially since Mr. Polesky's party) I've gotten interested in playing some jazz with the chromatic. I'd like to also play ballads, some country, and blues with the chromatic. I'm thinking of the Hohner Super 64X. Until I get much better at the chromatic, I don't want to make a big investment in money (just time), so I'm thinking around the $300 range max.
The question is, is the Super 64X worth the $200 or so I'd have to pay for it, or should I get something else? Thanks as usual.
