Subject: Astatic D-104, HELP!!

Hello Harpers-
This is my first post to the list, so, I'd like to say hello to all. My
name is Jarrod Loerzel, and I've been playing harp for about 8 years now.
Finally gotten the "cajones" to try amplified blues. In the process of
looking for a Fender Champ (tube, of course).
Anyway, enough dribble, I have recently acquired an Astatic D-104
(lollipop) mic. It still has the stand on it, the original cord, etc. Can
I use this mic for amplified blues? I understand it's a crystal mic,
so......that's good, no? Any ideas for mods to it? Can I keep the volume
control? How do I remove the stand to just use the "cookie"?
Any help or random thought s appreciated!!
