Subject: 280 vs. 270

Friends:
I have a question or two, be they ever so naive, about chromatics. Why
would one want to play a 12-hole chromatic instead of a 16 hole? What I
can think of is the price (but only by about 30 dollars), or maybe that
the 16 hole's size makes it difficult for hand effects. But it seems that
the 12-whole would still be tough (maybe I just have small hands!). I just
purchased a wonderful 280 through Farrel's. But now I wonder: is the 270
more airtight? I realize that the holes are square on the 270. Is this
better worse for TBing? I hope that this does not result in an endless
annying thread, but I have these nagging questions. I watched Piazza use
both 270's, 64's, and Super 64's, and it seemed that the 270 and the 280C
sounded similar. The Super definitely had a different sound. I say this
because it did not seem he did anything to change his mic or amp. Anyway,
I am rambling. But I still would like to know. Thanks--Troy

p.s. Just got the Abersold 'Blues in All Keys' play along thing. I am
giving it a shot right after I post this, and I will let all know how it
goes.
