Subject: Re: Are Overblows Worth The Effort?

The Bear asks:
"I'm curious how other doublers feel about OBs, and whether
they feel
the added flexibility on diatonic justifies the effort."

I think it's well worth it, but there's no hurry.

My own fooling around has given me the overdraws more
consistently than the overblows, so I incorporate them
more and more. The 6 OB is getting more and more
reliable, so I work it harder than the 1, 4, 5.

Seems like the thing to remember is you don't have to get
it all at once, perfect, now. It's just a direction in
the never-ending process of technique improvement so ya
can make better music.

The "new" (current, really) direction of R10.20 harps is
full chromatic ability, whether they're valved, discrete
comb'd, or overblown. For the session players, pro's, and
gigging musicians... your competition is going there....

My 2 cents,
MyQuill
