Subject: Bending in the two embouchure

I bend in my throat, but the embouchure still matters. This is because
the
air pressure increases as I go for a TB bend, I get significant leakage
on my
non-tongue side at the corner of my mouth, and it doesn't go down as far
or as
easily. So even though my throat bending is very similar to pursing,
because
of a poor TB purchase on the harp (I suppose) the lip pursing is far
better
for bends. But I love octaves and the percussive tb affects, so I want
to
learn.

Glenn writes:

I would assume that the longtime TBers would report equal facility with
TB and pucker bending. Is that right? I'm learning TB bending now, but I
don't have equal ease yet with the two techniques. And my preliminary
opinion is, yes, the tone is different.
