<<<a spring reed which is plucked, mouth and vocal tract providing variation in the sound...>>>> Over here they call that thing 'mondharp' which means 'mouthharp'. Why on earth did they name it 'jew's harp'? The Oxford says a comb with tissue paper is named 'jew's harp' too. Now don't tell me these are traditional Jewish instruments? To me it sounds like some ars (probably early this century and very likely a Dutchman) had to invent yet another little joke on Jewish avarice, which is a farce anyway. Well, may he (or she, you never know) have had a really nasty decease that's as nasty as a really nasty thing that's really, really nasty! (Ignore the above if these are in fact traditional Jewish instruments from a country or planet I've never heard about!)
Now on to the more interesting stuff:
Magic harps! When will Dick launch his harp-line? Does anybody know about this? Will there be something magically different about them? If so, are we mortals allowed to play them or should we leave this to the Grand Wizzards amongst us, like Donnie? Maybe some of you guys on the other side of the ocean have read something on it. Tell us!
