Subject: articulation

I would like to learn more about the articulations people feel are most
useful (actually a full inventory would be kinda fun). For example, I've
been wondering for a long time how a friend of mine gets a certain sound
and it turns out that all it wasis tongue/mouth vibrato. I wouldn't have
recognized this without a recent post which stated the yo-yo-yo
"articulation." For example only, I find myself using "wa" and "ha" more
often while playing acoustically and "chicago style" seems to have more
"ka"s and "ta"s and "da"s. My articulation for a boogie seems to be
something like a "doo-de-doo-de." OK, so I admit, this sounds like alot of
silly baby talk but I think this topic might make for an interesting
discussion since articulation seems to only get a paragraph or two in most
books (other than train sounds which is another topic completely). It
would be nice to pair articulations with a particular sound effects (not
pedals, although . . . .?????)

Also, one other brief item. Is it "cheating to move the harp up and down
or away from the mouth slightly to get a vibrato effect? It certainly
works (especially with a mic in your had) and is very different from
throat, hand or mouth vibrato but wasn't mentioned as one of the 3 ways to
get vibrato.
