Subject: Advice on National Amp

Harp-L friends: I saw a small National amp at a guitar store and it is
really a wonderful little amp for harp. Fine, warm tone on low
volumes, tasty distortion at larger volumes. Closer to the sound I
like than even my Fender Champ. It's maybe 14" high and 18" wide,
needs a grounded plug, but appears to be in good physical condition.
But I have no idea how to assess such an ancient-looking amp, other
than a visual on the speaker and my ears. I believe the store owner
has an amp tech friend who can check out the electronics for a small
fee.

When did National stop making these little guys? What's something
like this worth? What should I be looking for?

All advice appreciated!
Dave
