Subject: Bending Overblows

Well all this talk about bending overblows has caused me to put some effort
into it. But without the mechanical aid of my finger on the blow reed, I
can barely get the overblow to bend up to the next blow hole's note before
it craps out on me. Anyone got any tips on how to bend overblows without
having the closing reed start sounding and ruining the bend?

Recently I've been working (with Mike Polesky) on the Sonny Rollins tune
"Pent-Up House". Try it in the Key of G on a C harp. It only requires a
couple of E-flat overblows, the rest of the melody is all right there.
It's really a fun tune to play.
