Subject: Alan Wilson Tuning

One of the harps I received yesterday from Pat Missin was a Special 20 in
the key of A
with draw 6 raised to a perfect fourth above draw 5. This is the tuning
that Alan Wilson used on "On The Road Again", "TV Mama" and possibly also
on others.

I just played it for the first time. Of course the first thing I tried was
the famous solo from "On The Road Again" with the "mystery note". Man it
was EERIE when I hit that note for the first time in my life! It gave me a
chill! Its not just the note itself but the inflections and bend you can
use on it ... so much cooler than overblowing for the same note. My hat is
off to Mr. Wilson for coming up with this one!

I highly recommend you give it a try if you're at all handy with a tuner
and file.
