I've never had good luck wit this method - to my ear lowering inputs
and running the amp at full tilt just gives me a low signal to noise
ratio. I got fine results with my bassman from tweaking the EQ and
running volume at 3 to 6. I understand Abe Moskow now gets great
results out of my old Bassman after re-tubing it.
