Dear Doug and Barry,
Although I don't have command of the language, as you do Doug, I will try to
explain my position.

I'm almost 69 years old. I have emphysema. I need to play custom harps
because of the ease of response. Of course I realize it took the custom harp
builders years to develop their craft, but if I can learn to gap reeds for
easier response, in the time I have left, I'll save myself a lot of money. My
question was simply, will I be able to do this?

I thought Theraults answer was exactly what I was looking for. He said in
essence,
look at the gap in a custom harp. Try to match that gap.....Trail and error
and your pretty much on your own.

I'm not a hard nose, dogmatic kind of a guy, but relatively new to the
Harmonica. Ignorant of many things regarding the music and the Instrument. If
I upset anyone, I apologize.

I can tell you that Harp-l and the harp itself is one of the joys of my life.

Thanks for listening.......Kenny
