Yea, I know what you mean. I have a Gibson GA5T that I put Tesla EL84's in,
that sounds unbelievable. I also had a Peavey Classic 20 with EL84's that
sounded like dog dung, no matter what kind of EL84's I put in it.
BTW...I stand corrected. They're not called Yellowjackets anymore. They are
now called Black Jack Tube converters. The theory is that it's easier to
overdrive an EL84 than a 6L6. I'd still like to play with a pair of these
and see what they do. All depends on what sounds good to an individual's ear.
