Subject: Amps-Mic Up or Line Out

Uncle Ed says to send a flat signal to monitor/Robert Venables
suggest that he'd rather hear his "real" sound as monitor, because
he feels that he can "hear" and therefore "play" better.

I'll just pass on that Howard Levy sends a flat signal out to the mixing
board, and uses a separate monitor mix to hear it the way "he" wants
to hear it.

He figures that whatever he sends out to the board, the soundman is
going to mess with it anyway, so he may as well start with a flat signal.
This way, he gets to hear "his" sound the way he needs to hear it.

So, in this case, I suppose he would tend to favor Robert's take on
the subject.

Ed: I hope this little disagreement doesn't make you withdraw your
"wheelbarrow reception" in Austin . . .
