Hi All,
I would like to announce the start of the Los Angeles Regional Harmonica Association. LARHA will be dedicated to gathering the various talents and abilities of harmonica players in the Los Angeles area together to further understanding and acceptance of the Harmonica throughout the world. To do this we hope to cooperate with a variety of harmonica related organizations throughout the world. Our first Chairman of the board is David Fairweather and I will be acting as our first Treasurer. We are still looking for the right individuals to fill other spaces on the "board". Paramount in our search is to find individuals of all levels and all ages to participate in this group.
Los Angeles has long had a strong contingent of harmonica talent, but has rarely had the opportunity to organize this contingent in such a way to put Los Angeles on the harmonica map for good. In the past many of the best representatives of the harmonica community have taken it upon themselves as individuals to organize and put on events which we hope to continue as a group with greater flair. If you are interested in participating or live in the area and would like to be "counted" among our local harmonica brethren, please contact either by e-mail, regular mail or phone. The address for LARHA is:
Los Angeles Regional Harmonica Association c/o Michael Polesky 1731 Barry Avenue, #212 Los Angeles, CA 90025 TEL: (310) 979-9115 FAX: (310) 979-9135 E-Mail: NewCal~acbell.net
I will try to contact you soon and let you know what our first plans are. We would like to schedule a preliminary meeting on a Monday evening in the next 2 or three weeks to discuss our plans for next year. I hope to hear from you soon and tell your friends as well!
