OK Robert and Chrom gurus on the list,

I confess I am innocent of the chromatic. I see it there at
the store as I buy another A diatonic. "Someday" I say to myself and
creep out the store, murmuring "Too Expensive anyhow." But it's all
excuses. I've wanted to play fingertips since the first time I heard
it on the radio. So...

1) What Chromatic to get as a first instrument?
2) What Key so as to play fingertips as a first piece?
