Subject: Amp problem (no harp content)

Okay, let me first admit that there is very little harp content here
... except that this is a letter from the guitar player in my old band.
He's having a problem with his Fender Blues Junior amp. Since he's still
over in the Czech Republic (where I lived for five years), he needs all
the good, solid tech advice he can get. If any of you amp folks out
there could help out, this harp blower would really appreciate it. And
I'm sure my buddy would buy you a Pilsener the next time you're in
Prague.
Here's the e-mail he sent me. Take a look and see what you think:

"I will describe the problem i am having with my amp and perhaps you
can advise me. You know the configuration: 2 power tubes (6886s), 3
preamp tubes (12AX7). I turn the amp on and the 1st power tube glows
brighter then the other (exactly in the middle of the tube). It is clear
that there is a problem with power ditribution. When the tube burns (it
burns much hotter than the other) the volumn cuts out. I installed two
new ruby tubes and it was better for a while, but now it is worse than
ever. It also buzzes from time to time. Not speaker buzz but loud and
alarming tube buzz. Everything looks fine and I already had someone
shore up all the connections so it is not a loose wire."

Any ideas? Please send 'em to me off list, and I'll forward them to my
buddy.
Thanks a 1,000,000.
