Subject: Masters of blues harp

Well, folks, what do you want first, the good news or the bad news?
The good news-my book Masters of Blues Harp, a collection of classic
solos by Little Walter, Sonny Boy II and others, will be out in the
fall.
The bad news-the publisher junked my system of notation, which went into
tongue slaps, vibrato, tremelo and a dozen other major effects. There
will only be arrows, numbers, and note bends-woefully inadequate.
I'm fit to be tied.
So, as a free, legal, educational service, I am going to scan the
manuscript version of "Juke,' which will appear in the book shorn of all
it's details, and post it to my website within the next day or two.
You'll be able to download it and see what it was supposed to look like
before the Neanderthals got busy with their cudgels.
And then you can have strum and drang to your hearts content about
whether Le Riff was a 6, a 6-9, or 3-6. Maybe I'll even make online
corrections as per the highest bidder.
Or maybe I'll serialize the whole book-what a tempting thought...
Stay tuned.
