Steve, i think your "Wha-hoooo" is certailny justified, could have done with a "!" or two as well!
i got my Rusky almost a month ago. Frank put in a 127 ceramic element. no on/off or V/C (although, if i get another, i might go for the on/off - but this time i wanted a clean Ruskin for aesthetic reasons)
the Ruskin is architecturally correct! motorcylce tail light lines make this for one fast-looking mic!
true, as the Iceman has pointed out preveiously, it is an exceptionally light bullet, and it's not only easier for little girls to hold-- older males who have spent many many years holding full liter steins of the local swill like this sailor are also appreciative!
now, for the sound.
the cut to the chase answer is: sounds great!
i haven't really done realy A/B testing yet with my other mics, but i have done some informal play up against a green bullet, JT30, blues blaster, EV 920, pe54, truner cx, and can say that: a) it definitely holds it's own, b) it's at least as loud as most of them, c) does not feed back quickly AT ALL
i think mthe 920 is the loudest, and the pe-54 has got to be the absolute best! but the Ruskin is a really fine mic!
i'm definitely taking it up to tokyo next week to the 'harmonica dojo', bright brown, for a big jam session. i'll give the impressions of the japanese upon return!
hey, thanks, Frank, for well done work!

ps--uh, there is one aesthetic recommendation i'd make to Frank:
Frank, i'd put your name in 'brushed' finish either where you have placed the label, or around the rim at the top. the label sticker doesn't do the mic justice!
