I first saw the T-Birds in about 1979 at Antone's, Austin's famous "Home of
the Blues". They couldn't draw a crowd there at that time, they were too
"rock" for the venue, which was downtown on Sixth Street, across the street
from the Driscol Hotel. I think there were ten people in the joint. Great
show, though. I was more impressed with Jimmie Vaughn's guitar playing
than Kim Wilson's harp work, but what did I know?
