Subject: Before I cut!

I'm about to cut into my favorite Shure 520D and want to do so with
confidence. FJM gave me the following advice, which I believe, I just want
to be reassured that others have had positive outcomes as well. FJM states
"If the mic uses all three wires inside the shell it's wired dual.
Those 2 little screws on the side of the mic hold the cartridge in.
Remove the cartridge to see. To wire it single high impedance you cut
the red wire and insulate the end then wire the blue wire to the shield
and the black wire to the tip of the 1/4" plug. If you're not sure
which cord wire is tip just take the sleeve off the plug end of the jack
and look."

Should I go ahead and cut?
