I just returned from the first ever Bean Blossom Blues Festival in Nashville Indiana, Thanks to John Hall of Harp Depot who founded and promoted the fest. I can't say enough about what a good show it was. Three great days of great talent. Lots of great lesser known talent, topped off by the likes of Blind Mississipi Morris, Willie Foster, Snooky Pryor,Tad Robisson, John Weston, R. J. Mischo, MIke Stevens, who when he finished, I didn't know whether to through my harps away, or just admit that I see know way I'll ever be able to play like that, and then to add insult to injury, here comes Sonny Girl, an 8 year old that plays blues like she was pickin cotton last week. Watch out for her in the future!!
Workshop were also given, I was able to attend the ones given by Wille Foster, Snooky Pryor, and Mike Stevens. Very up close and personal, and learned a lot.
Sorry for rambling, but just wanted to post so that I could thank John, and all the others that made this quite a celebration of the blues, and it great dedicated talents.
Thanks John and all, Looking forward to the next one. Howard Grimes
