Here some highlights of the first two days of the 1999 WFBF. Guy Davis is a throwback to the early days of delta blues an accomplished guitar and harmonica player really worth checking out. Ellen Whyte and Linda Hornbuckle are Portland's sweethearts of the blues I'm telling you guys these two ladies can belt it out. Magic Slim and the Teardrops were definitely the high point of the weekend (so far) for me. Lazy Lester mingled among the crowd and reminisced about his brother-in-law and my harp hero Slim Harpo. There were many more great acts and with two days to go I am looking forward to Paul deLay, Jimmy Vaughan, Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater, Curtis Salgado and Charlie Musselwhite to name a few. This has really been blues heaven this year. Have a Happy and blue 4th Stew
