Subject: BigCo. Listening?

I sincerely hope the big companies ARE listening. In a nutshell, the lifespan
of the Hohner Special 20 is atrocious - they should consider re-designing the
hand-made emblem to include the words "Bic Disposable". I mean, who are we
kidding here? These harps eventually fail so that you will have to replace
them... planned obsolescence - just like your waterheater - it's gonna blow
one of these days & you're stuck in a cold shower. (Or in my case, the middle
of a gig).

My first year, I attributed these blowouts to playing too aggressively - a la
Keith Moon (I was a drummer in a previous life).
Year two? Well, maybe I'm just not gapping/tuning properly.
Years three & four.. just shut up and buy another one.

Here I am in my fifth year - lotsa gigging, lotsa lessons, and lotsa
acquaintences later I realize something.... It's NOT me!!

Dear Hohner;
With all due respect, you need to do a better job.

Sincerely,

Joe Piro
