Subject: A few SPAH thoughts & a one-note solo

For those who frequent the list and have not met and heard our many
list-members in person, either at SPAH or other harp gatherings, you
would absolutely not believe the talent of the folks who contribute to
harp-l. This was my first SPAH, and it was neat to meet some electronic
acquaintances, but it was totally mind-blowing to hear the amazing music
these guys on harp-l can produce. Words cannot do it justice. My trip
to SPAH was worth it just for the appreciation I gained for the skill
and versatility of the folks on harp-l.

I agree that Westport-HI was a disappointment, and concur with BBB that
the Central West End or the Loop would be a better location - too bad
there aren't any hotels around there other than the refurbished Chase.
If SPAH returns to St. Louis, perhaps Clayton would be a good compromise
(oooh - walk to SPAH! maybe have a backyard harp-l BBQ!).

I can highly recommend SPAH as an experience your ears will never
forget. I also learned at least a dozen very useful things about harp
playing, one being that I have a loooooong way to go before I'll use the
word "adequate" to describe mine.
Finally, to segue from my SPAH experience back to an on-going harp-l
thread, Corky Siegel does a pretty decent one-note solo on "Corrina,
Corrina".

Keep up the great harpin'
