Hello Harpers!
Well I had to take a couple days break.
I have discovered New Zealands Blues community, a blues open mic session and I finally got to see local harp hero Neil Billington. And I have to say he inspired me ! :) After seeing him perform, I have spent the best part of today nutting out once and for all how to play octaves - and blow me over with a blowbend if I didn't nut it out.
So I couldn't resist doing some more work this evening... So the updates to Harp On! include: Under "Playing Chrom" Trills Octaves (definitely need the experienced chaps out there to check this over) Under "Humour" You've seen it already on Harp-L, however: The health benefits of Harp (I see this as interest rather than humour), And the MicroPoor thread... at least parts of it. ;)
And after testing a number of free american based web site hosts and have settled on mirror site: http://www.anglefire.com/music/HarpOn (you may recognise the host...) This address is case sensitive, if you don't get the letters right you end up with their promo.
Unfortunately ads get imbedded into the pages, such is the cost of free hosting... However I have done my best to mask them out - so it shouldn't detract from the site too much. If you use the contents shortcuts they avoid the ads.
This should be a lot easier to remember than my main address: http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/~gigs
I will endevour to keep these sites the same, if you can't use one, the other address will be there.
Once again, thankyou to all of you who have sent me reviews - I really appreciate it, and I am working on them now. It will take a wee while to compile them properly and present them just so.
A couple more additions have been put on the Harp On! to do list: Altered tunings & various tunings of Chroms - not a Pat Missen, it concentrates on the flattened-slide tunings. This is pending a possible submission... watch this space. I'm considering putting a small section aside especially for Slide Harmonicas, this wasn't something that I had counted on, but theres no reason why it can't be done.
Keep those emails coming ! :)
All the best & Harp On! G gi~aradise.net.nz http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/~gigs http://www.angelfire.com/music/HarpOn/
