Hi all, To the gentleman who can't find a source for screws that can be used to hold transplanted reeds...There are two sizes that I fnd work well..0-80
or 00-90 ..Personally I find the 00-90 (the smaller choice) preferable because they require less , or no enlarging of the reed rivet pad hole,
also they fit the rivet hole in the reed PLATE,with a minimum of adjusting...so the chances are much better that the reed will fit in the
slot correctly, and not be off side...On the other hand, with the 0-80, one has to enlarge the holes ..then too, remember, that the reed PLATE hole has to be countersunk, so that the head of the screw (which should
have a flat head) not interfere with the windsaver. that will have to be
put on...The 00-90 minimizes these problems...Where can you get them ???
The F&R Farrell Company has everything you need..Also, you should have their rivet removing tool for extracting the reeds ..It is a remarkable helper! Then I would respectfully suggest you investigate my book which Farrell also carries: "STATE OF THE ART REPAIRS" which spells all of this out with accompanying diagrams, and goes into the intricacies of all aspect of repairs...tuning, gapping and like that...I trust this helps... All the best, Blackie
