Our youngest just turned 8, and we gave him a harp (a Hering of course!)as a present. So far he is just having fun with it right now, but I would like to teach him to play it properly. While thinking how to go about this, thought of two things I haven't seen discussed.
I have one of these little chromatic tuners ( a Korg CA-20). It has a LCD display that shows the note and a centering needle for +/- cents. It's quite sensitive to pitch. My thought is that adding a visual indicator might help him establish good breathing and embrochure technique, as well as developing his "ear".
The second thought was to program practice pieces for the keyboard that he could play along with.
Have any of you tried either of these, or have some thoughts about it?
