Subject: Amp Conversion

Greetings All,
I had no idea this site existed! Very, very nice. I've kinda let the harp slide the last few years. But now that I have so much time on my hands after a back surgery, I'm getting back into it with a vengeance. After playing off and on for the last 30 years, I've finally Eureaka!'d the motivation to delve into theory and practice everyday. Yes! It's been years since I've had this much motivation. I've also hooked up with some GOOD musicians and done some local gigs. I'd forgotten what it feels to fly. I can't believe I grounded myself for so long. I don't drink or use, but when I catch "the groove" and the rest of the band jumps on board I get jacked up. Seriously high. It's as if some brain chemical like dopamine or endorphin gets dumped into my synapses. Does any other instrument give it's players the same feeling? (I'm assuming I'm not the only harpist like this.)

Anyway, the reason I'm writing: I've got a '62 Fender Pro Amp I've been thinking about converting to a harp amp by pulling the 15" speaker and dropping in 2x10s. Actually, it's a phenomenal harp amp as is, for practice and mic'd small gigs. But she's "a heavy hip'ted woman" with a big bottom and I've been thinking how awsome it would be if I could get her to project her magic tone and mystic tremelo out there with the rest of the band. That's why I'm toying with the 2x10 idea. Anyone out there with experience based opinions/recommendations?
Is my reasoning reasonable? Thanks!
Dan
