Just to express a dissenting view - altho constructed on PCB's (and with other minor differences) the reissues are the same circuit as the original Bassman's. I subscribe to the view that these amps sound tighter and harsher at first because they're new - they sound like a Bassman straight off the production line in 1959 (or whenever). With some judicious tube swaps and some playing in (ie, gigging), these amps sound GREAT. If you want to hear just how great: buy Jerry Portnoy's album "Home Run Hitter", which was recorded with a 59 Reissue and a JT30.
