Subject: Bass harp help

Hi Folks,

Well, I'm finally ready to give up on my Huang Bass harp. Some of you
may recall all the problems I've had with it and I won't go into the
details again - check the archives if interested. Suffice it to say that
I have sent it back 3 times and fixed it myself many more times and the
repairs never hold up.

Basically, the problem is that the reeds tend to wiggle loose and rattle
against the edge of the reedslot despite the fact that I baby this harp
more than any other that I own. At this point, I am looking to do one
of two things:

1. Have someone remove all the reeds and re-attach them with bolts so
that they will not wiggle loose. Huang actually did this to one of the
reeds on the 2nd or 3rd time I sent it back and it seems to have done
the trick. I considered trying to do this myself, but because of the
size of the rivets, I would need all new tools.

2. Buy a Hohner Bass Harp. I am especially interested in getting a
customized one on a plastic comb as I have seen for sale a few times in
the past. I'm kicking myself that I didn't jump on one when I had the
chance, but at the time, I was still operating under the delusion that I
could make my Huang playable and reliable.

If anyone can help with either of the above or point me in the direction
of someone who can, I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance.
