>From time to time I have read that some player "bites" to achieve a clean separation of notes. I have also read that the upper lip can be used for the same purpose.

If "biting" means pressing the tongue against the top teeth I might be on the right track, but I don't get any results at all trying to use my upper lip.

I am a chromatic player and tongue block and use the glottal stop to separate the notes.

I'd appreciate any words of wisdom on this subject.
