Someone on the list recently stated that he didn't know of any successful
artists who are teachers. I have had several teachers who are (or were)
successful artists in several fields; e. g. Wendell Berry (writing), Jimmy
Raney (guitar), Rudy Pozzatti and Henry Chodkowski (painting). A few other
examples of successful artists who were or are teachers: Mark Rothko, Saul
Bellow, Hans Hoffman, Gustave Courbet, Howard Levy, Robert Henri - just a
few
off the top of my head.
