The easiest way to conquer 10B bending is to anchor the tip of your tongue against the base of your lower front teeth and hump it forward as though you were sqeezing a pea in that space between your teeth and tongue. David Harp recommends that in his Bending the Blues book, and it works. Trying to direct the airstream downward, almost like spitting straight down between your feet, can also help--you are actually trying to get the 10D reed moving as a blow reed, so directing air at it can help.
However, once you've mastered that method, you can gain still more control by shifting your focus farther back in your mouth and humping the back of your tongue to instigate the bend. You will get cleaner half-steps and continuous bends when you do it this way, but learning the front-of-the-tongue method first seems simpler to me because of the feeling of a steady anchor to work against. It helps you mentally mark the half-step points, and then you transfer that focus back in your mouth and gain a cleaner resonant system using the back of your tongue, back where you say "Hah".
Danny Gilbert says,
the dogs in Look up "Turbotape" in the Dec. 2000 archives and apply where needed. Simple as that. It will also help bring in the 10B bends cleanly, as well as the 3Dbbb bend that's slippery on higher-keyed LOs. Fast way to get useful backups for your MB hybrids, or vice versa.
