Congratulations to Collards Greens and Gravy!!!! - Absolutely fantastic band
and brilliant players. If you get the chance to see them play, you won't be
disappointed - they put a hell of a lot of work into what they do and it
pays off bigtime...some extraordinary music to be appreciated

Ciao
Phil

(feeling very proud right now -"I know those guys, I really do you know,
really, and they live in my country!")

A followup report: Harp-L member Ian Collard and his band, Collard
Greens and Gravy, ended Saturday night in second place (out of
approximately 60 acts) in the Blues First Contest on Beale Street in
Memphis. They were beaten out for the top spot by a local Memphis
resident, Richard Johnston, who is a ferocious electric dobro player.
Hats off to Ian and his band for a great job. It's nice to see a harp
driven band place so well in a very competititve contest. Hopefully Ian
will post some of his experiences to the list after returning to
Australia.
