One thing occurred to me today:the difference between playing harp trough amp "live" and playing harp through amp AND recording it AND listening the results! I noticed a great difference between recorded amp sound and the"live" amp sound. Now I realise that because I have been listening to harp players from records,I have got used to hearing a RECORDED amp+harp sound, not a "live" sound. This is partly why I have been feeling that I can=B4t get the sound I want from my amp. When I listened to a playback me and a guitarist friend of mine did,the sound I got from my Blues Jr. was just wonderful!! It was not a sound I hear when I play with BJ "live".We used a good Neumann mike for recording it and we didn=B4t use any effects,it was just LO,GB520DX and BJ.This thing has newer crossed my mind before altough it should have because I have been playing saxophone for 15+ years and have recorded with it many times,so I naturally realise the great difference between acoustic and recorded sax sound.Ofcourse, this is true with harp& sound too! Maybe this helps some other harpists too, when searching for the right sound.Try recording it!! Regards,V-P.H
