Hi all, just this note to let to the list know about a new CD from one of the best chromatic players, or maybe I shuld say one of the younger chrom players, but you don´t think his touch is like a baby, he´s 26 years old right now and in the ´99 was recorded a pair of sesion in the Cafe Central from Madrid (Spain), in those days 24-25 years old, but with the sound of a monster of chromatic harmonica. All 8 songs were recorded live with a crystal sound with the Joshua Edelman Trio, with Joshua on piano, plus double bass and drums. The songs walk among jazz sounds, a little blues and nice ballads, where I find two superb songs, one "Orfeo Negro" by Luis Bonfa, maybe many of us already listened this song in the album from Richard Bonfiglio "Romances", although I feel more emotive the version from Antonio, and the great song "You don´t know what love is" simply impressive, two minutes as solo intro that enjoy a lot, the others, good songs too played without electronic effects and I think with a Hohner 270, perhaps the song "What a wonderful world" with Antonio on harmonica and vocal could be the point...
About how old he is and how good can he plays now and years ago, is one thing he only can explain, without any doubt, one of the next generations into this instrument, I´ve seen some times in concerts and always diferent songs who plays fantastic since he started to play the harmonica at soon age. As harmonica teacher he is one of the values of preservation and advanced here in Spain, even I have lessons from him, who include classical music to improve the harmonica control, and as result of this I am playing music from some Bach albums these days...
