Hi All

Just to remind you, when I send a note to the list there is no
intention of pointing out individuals. I tend to take a much "longer"
view of things and these reminders are meant for all of us. Think of
them as an occasional sermon from the pulpit. It isn't easy to live
up to high standards ;-). So, don't feel personally or individually
embarrassed or upset at what I have to say!

Normally, the list is pervaded by a sense of cooperation,
understanding and love. The past couple of days have been a great
example of the "good things". However, I will be the first to admit
that the previous few months, if not longer, have not been our finest
hours. The fault is definitely mine, as I have not been as quick as I
should to remind people of their responsibilities to the list as I
should have. I would really like to restore some of the quality to
the list that has made it so much fun in the past. I DEFINITELY need
everyone's cooperation for this.

As I see it, the problems we are facing have been brewing for a rather
long time. Gradually, we have all become a little more careless about
almost every area of when, what, and whether we should post something
to the list. In the last year or so MANY of us have gotten up on the
wrong side of the bed and posted or replied to a post in a way that
demonstrated it. We have been doing a lot of "nit-picking", showing
our irritation and resorting to confrontation to sooth our frustration
(I stole that from Jesse Jackson). So, what we need to do is all take
a step back, breath deep and relax.

I am going to make a couple of announcements with some more specific
guidelines in the very near future on a couple of areas. While these
guidelines will be to help avoid some of the arguments as of late,
they may directly affect you in any event. I am going to try to
streamline a few areas to help avoid errors of perception, which often
lead to little spats as well as other things I would like to discuss.
Please read each of these through quickly so you have an idea of what
