Subject: blues jam 101...... ?

Ummm... A Friend of Mine went to his first local Blues Jam tonite.
Let's call my friend "Mr Chicken-Poop" (CP for short... Yea- THAT's
my FRIEND'S name....)
Anyways- "CP" was dazzled that complete strangers could walk up
to each other and actually play songs that sounded good.
"CP" wants to know if there are "stock songs" that most rhythm secs
and guitar players know and certain keys of harps to bring along.
Are there good songs to start with (for harpsters) when "CP" gets
the Nads to actually get-up and play (he don't sing too good-
So I hear....)? Who asks who what?
Is it OK ("CP" wonders) to bring along a harp mic- as long as
it just needs a guitar cord to connect-to?
Has anyone else been in My Friend's postion that actually went
and whipped-up a web page or article about?
I promised to ask harp-l'ers seeing as how it is scoured by
the newest to the Bluest players on the planet!

Cluck!...... I mean THANKS!

(I'm glad tomball's out of town....)
