During the recent Blues Blaster discussion someone mentioned that the pin 3 hot XLR configuration that Astatic uses is the same for a Shure 545 wired high impedance. Sure is, thanks, I never knew that. Gary's post regarding his 545 for sale prompted me to drag out a 545 Shure I've had for over a decade, I've only tried using it with a standard XLR configured cord and a lo/hi impedance adapter and I've never much liked the mic. I plugged in my pin 3 hot XLR and voilá, the microphone was transformed. Just one of those things, I'd been given the mic in a pile of other stuff years ago and never paid any atention to it. I think it might supplant the 520D I've used for the last decade and a half. Really a great microphone, thanks for the cord tip again. fjm
