Pat, thanks. I have some Clifford Gibson and Jaybird Coleman recordings. I
guess I'm still on firm ground when I say that relative to Texas, the
Delta, and Southeast Coast, not much blues was recorded in Alabama.
Obviously some sides were cut.

There were a few sessions done in Birmingham. Details are in Goodrich and
Dixon, but I don't have my copy to hand right now. There were also a few
Alabama-born players who recorded elsewhere. I believe this was the case
with (guitarist) Clifford Gibson, who was quite a big seller for a while.

Complete works of Jaybird Coleman (including his duet with fellow Alabamian
harp player Ollis Martin), Frank Palmes (who was probably Coleman under a
pseudonym) and the Birmingham Jug Band (which may or may not have included
Jaybird Coleman) can be found on Document DOCD-5140, "Jaybird Coleman and
the
Birmingham Jug Band 1926-1930".

The complete works of the amazing George Bullet Williams (who was so amazing
he was at least two different people!) along with Ollis Martin's single solo
recording can be found on Document DOCD-5100 "Great Harp Players 1927 -
1936"
and an alternate take by Williams can be found on Document DOCD-5150 "Too
