Subject: Buddy Lucas-Harp Player?

Hi all,

Seeing Bob Eagle's post on Buddy Lucas and his remark that his harp
playing "leaves much to be desired" has brought me out of lurking mode. I
have to wholeheartedly second that response and use my hypothetical analogy
to express myself on this issue. I've often thought that Buddy's harp
playing (usually bending a chromatic just south of true pitch) must have
caused the same reactions in a record producers mind that Tampa Red's use of
kazoo did. I can just hear the producer saying, "Here comes Buddy. Quick
someone hide that damn harp so he's forced to play the sax!". I also imagine
the producers feeling the same way about Hudson Whittakers kazoo:-)!

Peace,

CSB
