Maybe I should raise my rates-I only charge $30 per hour and I would put my
harp lessons up against absolutely anyone's. CDs and tour schedule don't
make you a master teacher-years of sitting down with students and learning
how to communicate the skill of playing music do. I would rather sit down
and learn from someone like Dave Barrett, who is truly a master teacher,
than any number of pros. Listen to the Butterfield lesson tapes-there is
some worthwhile stuff there, but he says right off that he had never taught
anyone before. And it
shows - there no real organization to his approach at all.
